Shaggy Shack Pet Resort & Spa provides a boarding experience unlike any other. With our large outdoor 26 yards and small dog-to-staff ratio, we are able to give your dog the personal attention and space they need to play and grow. Based in Spanaway, we also welcome our nearby WA areas like Lacey, DuPont, JBLM, Lakewood, Yelm, McKenna, Roy, Graham, Eatonville, Ashford, Elbe, Puyallup, South Hill, Frederickson, Parkland, Summit, Elk Plain, Orting, Sumner, Bonney Lake, and Tacoma.
Main Kennel
Our main kennel facility is equipped with both large and small dog runs, separated for your dog’s comfort and safety. The kennel is heated during the winter months, and is designed to provide maximum ventilation during the summer. Our facility also has a full kitchen with microwave, refrigerator, and freezer to cater to your dog’s dietary needs. Mealtimes vary depending on your personal schedule. Our goal is to provide as little disruption to your dog’s routine as possible during their boarding experience.
Large Dog Kennels
The large dog kennels are equipped with connected indoor and outdoor runs. Indoor runs are outfitted with a bed, and blankets, as well as any other personal items you would care to bring for your pet. We encourage you to provide your pet with cloth items carrying with them the smell of home. Please refrain from bringing any irreplaceable items or rawhide chews, as we would like to provide the safest possible environment for your pet. The outdoor patio portion of the large dog kennels are privately fenced so that your dog can enjoy his or her own personal space.
Small Dog Kennels
Our small dog kennels are entirely indoors to provide the safest boarding experience for your companion. Kennels are equipped with beds, blankets, and stuffed animals for your dog’s comfort. A radio is also present for your pet’s comfort. If you would like to board , we offer family boarding in our large dog kennels. Our little guys also have 3 completely covered smaller yards to socialize with other little dogs. They are located close to our kitchen area so we can bring them in as needed.
Cattery
The Shaggy Shack Pet Resort & Spa cattery is housed in a separate building to maintain optimum levels of quiet for our guests. Cats may be housed in individual or family kennels, provided they are comfortable sharing space. Cat kennels are equipped with a litter box, emptied 3 times a day, as well as hiding cubes, toys, and a scratching post for your cat’s enjoyment. Staff are available to provide your feline friend with as much attention as he or she desires, while keeping in mind that some guests may take time to warm up.
